For the weather to improve to put Turnstone in… and by “improve” we could go with “stop snowing”… this was the scene late afternoon on Saturday the 22nd:

Selling Hobie 16

Filed by Bass Sears @ 7:28 PM

Since we have moved up to the Nimble, the beloved Hobie 16 catamaran must go. Details of the sale, photos and videos are at this link.

(Update: sold the catamaran on 5/18 to a nice gentlemen from Boise… CraigsList rocks!)

Denied!!!

Filed by Bass Sears @ 6:44 PM

So, today is the day!! Yesterday was a busy day doing some final cleaning and scrubbing, securing the anchors so they don’t bang around, finishing the jib sheet cleats, getting everything dialed to drive to Redfish today and launch for the summer’s fun. Talked to the ranger station in Stanley on Monday and they said the ramp was open and there was “a little bit of ice” still on the south (far) end of the lake… the implication being the north end of the lake was wide open.

We roll in today, see we’re going to be the first boat of the season (cool, choice of parking spots) and then, well, then we get to the ramp itself… there are docks in place (good) but, ahh, still a little bit of ice, let’s say more than you could use in a few cocktails. A little video captures the mood quite nicely:

I guess we’ll try again in a week or two!

This is a simple blog about a simple project... we found a really neat boat, a Nimble 20, and brought it home to Idaho to clean up a bit and sail around the west.

I won't be rebuilding a whole boat with a paperclip or anything, just doing bit by bit work to try to pretty up Turnstone and make her as well founded as possible.

Oh, and as a web developer, I figured I better try to figure this whole WordPress thing out!
